After incubating this product idea for about a year, the opportunity to bring it to life arose during my Experience Design class, where I had the chance to form a group and create the PaintPod.
Throughout the project, my team conducted extensive market research and user interviews to gather valuable insights. The culmination of this research led to the careful crafting of restraints, prioritizing features such as a retractable handle, an efficient tip attachment mechanism, a compact and organized case, and an overall high-quality construction.
To materialize the detachable brush tips and collapsible handle, we started the iterative prototyping process using advanced 3D printing and CAD techniques. The focus during test iterations was on optimizing sizes, precision, and perfecting the interplay of the spiral mechanism with a secure twist lock. The outcome was a handle and lock that seamlessly blend compactness with functionality.
The case, an integral part of the PaintPod experience, underwent rigorous design scrutiny. Emphasizing portability, durability, and ease of cleaning, the final case design ensures that PaintPod is not merely a tool but a creative companion that endures the test of creativity.
