Throughout my academic journey at Northeastern, I recognize the need to sharpen my skills in Product Design, an area not explicitly covered in my program. Eager to bridge this gap, I proactively seeking out opportunities beyond my college curriculum. In Fall 2023, collaborating with my Experience Design teacher, I joined forces with students from the Business school to craft a hardware product with a software component, a project that became a pivotal point in my journey as an aspiring product designer.
This hands-on experience brought me into collaboration with professionals from diverse fields such as management, finance, R&D, and software engineering. Together, we worked towards the creation of a reliable, desirable, and impactful product. The culmination of our efforts involved presenting our work to a panel of professionals, subjecting it to thorough scrutiny.
This endeavor not only provided me with the practical product design experience I sought but also nurtured a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Through this process, I gained incalcuable insights into the power of the design process and thinking. It emphasized the crucial role of efficient teamwork and effective time management, contributing not only to the project's success but also advancing my understanding of how diverse skills and perspectives converge to create innovative and well-received solutions. This experience and its outcome stands as a testament to my growth as an aspiring product designer and my commitment to creating impactful and thoughtfully designed solutions.
